Welcome to Yatra Booking. Please read these Terms before using our Platform or making a booking.

1. Introduction and Acceptance

These Terms govern your use of the Yatra Booking website, apps and related services (the “Platform”). By using the Platform or making a booking, you accept these Terms, the Privacy Policy, Payment Policy and Cancellation & Refund Policy, which form part of them. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. If you book for others, you confirm you are authorized to do so and to accept these Terms for them. You must use the Platform lawfully and in compliance with the laws of Nepal.

2. Definitions

  • Operator: the bus company running the trip.
  • Customer: the person who books. Passenger: the person travelling.
  • Booking / Ticket: a confirmed reservation (clause 5.3) and its travel document.
  • Fare / Service Fee: the ticket price / any platform or processing fee shown at checkout.
  • Payment Gateway: a third-party payment service (currently Fonepay).
  • Yatra Coins: Diamond, Gold and Silver Coins, as described in the Payment Policy.
  • Seat Lock: a temporary seat holds during booking.
  • No-Show: a Passenger who does not board at the correct place and time.
  • Applicable Law: the laws of Nepal.

3. Our Role and the Operator’s Role

Yatra Booking is a booking platform and intermediary. We do not own or operate buses. The travel contract is between the Passenger and the Operator. The Operator alone is responsible for the journey: vehicle, driver, safety, schedule, route, delays, cancellations and luggage.

4. Eligibility and Accounts

You must be 18 or older (or legally able to contract) to book. Minors may travel only on an adult’s booking. Give accurate details and keep your phone and email current. Keep your login secure. You are responsible for all activity on your account; report suspected misuse immediately. Accounts are personal. Do not share them or create multiple accounts to abuse the Platform.

5. Booking Process and Confirmation

  • Search results come from Operators availability, Fares and schedules may change before confirmation.
  • A booking request is not a guaranteed ticket.
  • A Booking is confirmed only when payment is complete (where required), the Booking is created in our system and a Ticket is issued.
  • A Seat Lock is temporary, is not a Booking, and expires automatically if booking is not completed.
  • We or the Operator may reassign a seat for operational or safety reasons, and will offer an equivalent seat, alternative trip or refund.
  • Check your Ticket immediately and report errors promptly.

6. Passenger Information and Identification

  • Provide correct Passenger details (name, phone, email, gender, age, travel date, boarding and dropping points).
  • Wrong details may lead to denied boarding or extra charges. We are not liable for losses caused by them.
  • Carry your Ticket and valid ID where the Operator or law requires.
  • Child fares, unaccompanied minors and assistance for Passengers with disabilities follow the Operator’s policy. Tell us at booking; we cannot guarantee every request.

7. Tickets and Verification

  • Tickets are delivered by app, email, SMS or your account, and may carry a QR code and booking reference.
  • Show your Ticket (and ID if asked) when boarding.
  • Tickets are personal. Do not resell, copy or alter them. Invalid, duplicate or used Tickets may be refused without refund.

8. Pricing, Fees and Pricing Errors

  • The total price (Fare, taxes, Service Fees, processing charges) is shown before payment. The price at confirmed payment is the price you pay.
  • Whether Service Fees are refundable is stated in the Cancellation & Refund Policy. Gateway charges may be non-refundable.
  • If a price is clearly wrong due to error, we may correct it or cancel the Booking with a full refund.

9. Payments

  • We accept Fonepay and Yatra Coins (see Payment Policy). By paying, you authorize the provider to charge the amount shown.
  • Payments can fail due to bank, wallet, gateway or network issues. We are not responsible for third-party failures.
  • If money is deducted but no Booking is confirmed, contact us with the transaction details. We will confirm the Booking or refund you within the Payment Policy timeframe.
  • Never share your OTP, PIN or password with anyone, including people claiming to be from Yatra Booking.
  • Contact us before disputing a charge. Fraudulent chargebacks may lead to suspension and recovery of the amount.

10. Cancellation, Refunds and Operator Cancellation

  • Cancellation rules depend on the Operator, route and time before departure. Cancelling does not guarantee a refund.
  • Refunds are calculated under the applicable policy, after deducting cancellation charges, non-refundable fees and gateway or Operator charges.
  • Refunds go to the original payment method where possible. Timing depends on us, the Operator and the bank, wallet or gateway. Yatra Coins are treated as per the Payment Policy.
  • If an Operator cancels a trip, we will help with an alternative trip, rescheduling or a refund.

11. Boarding, No-Shows and Missed Buses

  • Arrive at the correct boarding point early, with your Ticket and ID, and follow Operator instructions.
  • You are a No-Show if you arrive late, go to the wrong point, lack required documents, or do not use the Ticket without cancelling.
  • Late or non-compliant Passengers may be refused boarding. No-Show Tickets are non-refundable unless a policy says otherwise.

12. Delays, Schedule Changes and Vehicle Replacement

  • Times are indicative and may change due to traffic, weather, roads, strikes, restrictions or Operator decisions.
  • Operators may change boarding or dropping points or replace the bus, which may change your seat. We will seek an equivalent seat where possible.
  • We pass on changes when we receive them but cannot guarantee notice before departure. Keep your contact details current and check your Booking before travel.

13. Luggage and Prohibited Items

  • You are responsible for your luggage. Operators may limit size, weight and number, and charge for excess.
  • Do not carry illegal, dangerous, flammable or Operator-prohibited items.
  • We are not responsible for loss, theft or damage to luggage.

14. Passenger Conduct and Safety

  • Obey the law and Operator instructions, respect staff and other Passengers, and do not damage the vehicle or create a safety risk (including disruptive behaviour while intoxicated).
